The morning kicked off with students and faculty members hoisting the Pakistan flag in the front yard – a representation of their respect and symbolic of how far Pakistan has come. The theatre troupe had rehearsed the national anthem, traditional songs and skits for days to make sure that this year’s 14th August was unforgettable – and they did a wonderful job! Friends and teachers cheered them on, and it was great to see the level of enthusiasm and patriotism that was in the air so early in the morning. The celebrations were followed by halwa puri; a tradition at Cedar for the past two independence days, which will be continued every year! By the end of the program, we can safely say that there was a warm fuzzy feeling in the air. This marks the new AS batch’s first celebration with us at Cedar, with hopefully many more to come!
