As a tribute to those who fought bravely for our country, Cedar College organised a special assembly on the 6th of September. The event kicked off late afternoon in the Student Activity Centre; decorated with portraits of the martyrs along with candles lit up in remembrance of the sacrifices they made. The first performance was by Fahmali Saigal, singing “Ae Watan Pak Watan.” His performance was followed by Alizaib, who in beautiful Urdu poetry, elaborated on the significance of Defence Day. He covered topics like how conserving the will and determination of our martyrs is still possible and should we choose to empathize with their motivation, we may serve our country better. Eventually, the one-hour event came to an end with national songs, sung by the choir of students who were trained by Ms Aysha Shaikh.
