After graduating, Athar Qadri worked for about a year at JS Private Equity’s Finance Department before leaving for his Master’s. Upon completion, he returned to Pakistan to work within consulting and Investment Banking before switching to United Bank Limited’s Treasury Department. Here, he gained a holistic view into the bank’s investment activities as a Liquidity manager.
Athar left banking to pursue a more meaningful role, joining Cedar College as a Guidance counsellor. He hopes to play a part in shaping the minds of the future leaders of Pakistan and making a positive impact to students’ lives by supporting and facilitating their academic and career objectives.
Athar believes an active approach to counselling at school level can benefit students greatly by allowing them to make more informed career decisions and identify their strengths and weaknesses at a point in their lives when they are transitioning into adulthood.
Athar plays for the Karachi United’s club football team, holds a black-belt in the Korean martial arts of Pasary and is also the Football Coach at Cedar College. He enjoys outdoor activities such as swimming and traveling, and shows keen interest in creative fields, such as photography and music production.
